Abstract

The study seeks to investigate the use of technology in education at the Higher Institute of Science and Technology – Souk Al-Khamis, Msayhle, by identifying the main factors that limit faculty members' use of technology in education, the current reality of technology use in education, the importance of technology in education and the educational process, and highlighting the training needs required by faculty members for using technology in education. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive approach to scientific research was adopted. A questionnaire was designed to survey the opinions of faculty members regarding the use of technology in education at the institute. This was done to cover the field aspect of the study. The sample size consisted of (27) individuals randomly selected from all academic departments of the institute. The study concluded with a number of findings, including the existence of several reasons limiting faculty members' use of technology in education, numerous difficulties and problems appearing in the current reality of technology use in education, as well as the importance of using technology in education, the faculty members' desire to learn how to use technology in education, and their need for training courses. The study recommends the necessity of providing various types of educational technology in education, reassessing the current reality of technology use in education, solving the problems and difficulties that appear in the reality of this educational institution, and the necessity of establishing training courses and providing educational technology tools in education.
